About T. Orlando Pearson

T. Orlando Pearson is a Senior Litigation Associate at Denmark Ashby LLC. He assists with the management and supervision of the litigation department. Although Orlando’s areas of government practice are expanding, Orlando primarily practices in local government, contract and tort litigation as well as employment matters and other litigation disputes impacting local governments. Orlando is a results-oriented attorney who constantly seeks cost-effective, unique solutions to legal issues.   

Before joining Denmark Ashby LLC, Orlando was a litigation associate in multiple law firms across the State of Georgia. Orlando gained experience in local government, labor and employment and financial services litigation.  Additionally, as a former staff attorney in the Superior Court of Fulton County and law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, Orlando drafted countless published judicial orders and gained experience advising and assisting public officials with the exercise of legal and constitutional responsibilities.  During 15 years in public and private practice, Orlando successfully represented clients in trial and appellate courts as well as assisted clients in transactional matters.  While serving as a staff attorney, Orlando drafted orders and managed State of Georgia v. The Atlanta Development Authority, et al., involving the 2014 local government bond validation proceedings related to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.   

Throughout his career, Orlando has been a sought-after, trusted resource in the legal community.  Orlando moderated a law school panel discussion with judges and attorneys concerning the role of the judiciary.  Likewise, Orlando served as a State Bar of Georgia panelist concerning diversity in the judiciary and legal profession.  Additionally, Orlando organized and presented CLE seminars at the State Bar of Georgia as well as taught a course at Georgia State University. 

Moreover, Orlando exhibits a commitment to community service and leadership.  Orlando graduated from Leadership Savannah, Leadership DeKalb and the State Bar of Georgia Leadership Academy.  Additionally, Orlando served in various leadership positions, including, but not limited to, Committee Member of the State Bar of Georgia’s B.A.S.I.C.S. Committee, Board Director of Urban Hope, Secretary and Board Director of the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra and Board Director of the Salem Crossing Homeowner’s Association. 

Orlando earned a Bachelor of Science degree in international affairs with a concentration in economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with high honors while serving as a hall council president and a student attorney on the Mock Trial Team.  Subsequently, Orlando received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia where he served as an investigator for the Honor Court and advocate for the University Judiciary.  Although accepted into additional graduate programs after law school, Orlando decided to pursue a legal career. 

Orlando has been a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia since 2006.  He is admitted to practice in every State and Federal Court in Georgia.  Likewise, Orlando has represented clients in administrative proceedings. 

Orlando grew up in Metro Atlanta where he graduated from Chamblee Magnet High School.  Since that time, Orlando has been extensively involved in the Georgia High School Mock Trial Program as a student, attorney-coach and judge in regional, state and national competitions.  When he is not practicing law, Orlando pursues his passion for cooking, Atlanta sports and CrossFit.
